The success of the ‘Faces’ tour made a big impression on the UK press. Trevor was now being recognised as a master songwriter. Feeling renewed Trevor returned to the Kinks' Konk Studios with Ray Davies as associate producer in 1981. He rehearsed and recorded with noted session drummer Simon Phillips and ex-Cream bassist, Jack Bruce as a trio. This was the first time Trevor wrote songs and worked with a band as a unit prior to recording. Fresh music emerged and as the recording process continued Mo Foster (Michael Schenker Group), Steve Lange (Night), Chris Thompson and Manfred Mann contributed their talent to what would be one of the year’s best albums in the UK.
